Thor Heyerdahl

Hello everybody! This is Emma.
I want to share my presentation about a famous person in Norway. I hope you like it.

Thor heyerdahl
Childhood
Tor was born i Larvik 6. October 1914.
His father was a maser brewer and his mother Alison was leader for the town’s museum society.
Tor was allowed to make a small "zoo / museum" in her father's brewery. He was very good at drawing, and already as 8 age, he created fanciful drawings of the South Sea Islands. He had decided to become "explorers"
Kon-Tiki across the PacificIt was in 1947 Thor Heyerdahl and five friends carried the raft journey that bore the name Kon-Tiki expedition.
 Heyerdahl wanted to prove that Polynesia could have been populated by South American Indians who used balsa rafts as transportation. To prove that it was possible, he built a balsa raft for himself and completed the journey.
It is a story about 8000 km of open sea, 101 adventure days and a crew of six who did the impossible.

Death
Heyerdahl died on April 18, 2002, in Colla Micheri in Italy where he had gone to spend the Easter holidays with some of his closest family members.
The Norwegian government gave him a state funeral in Oslo Cathedral on April 26, 2002.
He is buried in the garden of the family home in Colla Micheri.
