King Harald V
Birth 21 February 1937 at Skaugum.Son of King Olav and Crown Princess Mertha.First king born in Norway in 567 years.Its first three years of life spent Prince Harald in Skaugum. When Germany invaded Norway on 9 April 1940, fled the royal family, parliament and government from Oslo by train. On Elverum was the prince separated from his father, Crown Prince Olav, when he and his mother, Crown Princess Märtha, and her two older sisters, Princess Ragnhild and Princess Astrid, was evacuated to Sweden.After fighting in Norway was over, started various initiatives to circulating in the German-controlled Norway to create a Nazi-controlled, reformed kingdom with Harald child king. The King and the government in London decided therefore that the Crown family were evacuated by ship to the final security United States, where the rest of the war lived in Pooks Hill, Maryland, just outside Washington DC Along with his grandfather, King Haakon VII, his mother and his sisters did Prince Harald experience the return to Oslo 7 June 1945. The King has distinguished himself in a number of national and international sailing competitions. While he was Crown Prince, he represented Norway during the Olympic Games several times. Crown Prince attended the Norwegian Olympic team and bar Norwegian flag at the opening of the Olympic Games in Tokyo in 1964. He won the race on the Scandinavian Gold trophy in 1968, and won the Kiel regatta in 1972. He was second in the World Championship in the half ton class in 1982. In the summer of 1987, he was world champion with his new boat, he entonneren Fram X, which he got as a gift for the 50th anniversary of Norwegian industry. In 1988 he won the bronze medal at the World Championships in San Francisco. In 2005 won the King Harald and crew European Championship in sailing boat Fram XV. In 2007, Harald V Holmenkollen medal with Queen Sonja. In January 2011, he received the Norwegian Sports Honorary Award for 2010. Altogether, he won two gold, two silver and two bronze medals. The King is an avid hunter. Among the most faithful participants in the King's hunting party is society stops Stein Erik Hagen and Gerhard Heiberg. The attached considerable prestige to participate in the King's hunting party.
